MY NEW GRANDSON

A grandchild, they say, can fill a place in your heart you never knew was empty. 

That seems true. 

As soon as a new one comes into your life, it feels right.... like you knew all along he or she would be here sooner or later. 

Here's the latest grandbaby for Karen and me.... our third. 

Philip Daniel Lashinsky arrived on Friday, August 1st, by way of my daughter Darcy. 

For whatever reason, everyone asks what a baby weighs.... a specific request for information that, thankfully, doesn't follow us into adulthood. 

Can you imagine meeting someone for the first time and hearing, "How nice to meet you... how much do ya' weigh?" 

OK, he weighed in at 6 pounds 13 and 3/4 ounces. 

The second photo posted here clearly shows Philip's reaction to his grandfather taking the first photo. 

My son-in-law Darin has already uploaded several videos of his baby boy on YouTube for family and friends to see. I don't think he'll mind if you take a look.
