A LITTLE GIRL IN THE BIG APPLE

100_0570For the final essay on New York City, I've called on my 8-year old daughter.

With observations on our trip, here are excerpts from McKensie's Notebook:

TRAVELING THERE:
On spring break I went to New York.
In the airport I had some chocolate milk that had not even been opened.
The airport people threw it away.
I think they are a little too strict these days.

When I got on the plane there were TVs on the back of the person in front of my seat.
They had snacks of course too.
And our plane was JetBlue. It was nice.

OUR HOTEL:
When we got to New York we saw our hotel room.
It was nice too, and it was on Broadway.
I liked our room, our bed, and our bathroom.
I liked the lobby because it's just nice, and the restaurant in the hotel.
I liked the elevators, the windows, and the view.

THE BROADWAY PLAY:
We went to see Mary Poppins. It was good.
On the back of the program it said, "stop by Hershey's and get a free sample of our new Resisns Crisby Circhy bar."
The magic tricks were cool.
I liked the whole play, the music.... and getting to go backstage afterwards.
I liked the elevators.

100_0543THE METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART:
The restaurant was nice.
I liked the Egypt part, and the ladies part.
And I liked the elevators, and the front steps.

TOYS R US:
The ferris wheel is fun.
I liked the candyland part, and the Barbie doll house, and the moon sand.
I liked the giant dinosaur.... it was a t-rex dinosaur, right?
And the elevators.

THE GAZILLION BUBBLES SHOW:
I liked the bubbles in the Gzilna Bubll Show, they were interesting.
They didn't have elevators, I don't think.
They had escalators or stairs.

100_0511THE SUBWAY:
It was really fun.
Not scary.... Actually I'm not sure whether it was scary or not.

FAVORITE STORE:
The American Girl doll place.
It was so cool. There was an American Girl doll hospital, an American Girl doll cafe, and lots of American Girl dolls.... and Biddy Babies to buy.
I 'REALLY' liked that place!

ODDS AND ENDS:
We ate at Serendipity. It had frozen hot chocolate, which was not hot, it was frozen.
It was good.
I liked their food.
Taxicabs are nice too.
Walking on the snow was fun too.

A FEW NOTES FROM DAD:
Thanks to McKensie for the observations.
I left McKensie's original spelling of Reese's Crispy Crunchy bar because I liked the way she spelled it.... it sounded pretty good.

And, yes, we did go by the Hershey's Store after the play.

I liked her spelling on the Gazillion Bubbles Show too.

And yes, they have an actual ferris wheel inside the Toys R Us store.
It stands three stories high! That store, on Broadway, is a wonderland for kids.

Next vacation, perhaps we'll just take McKensie on a tour of elevators in buildings.
She'd be perfectly happy.
